Memoria High School: Heartfelt Times!

We’re very excited to announce our new visual novel, set to launch this winter! We hope you enjoy this story filled with romance, mystery, and high school detectives, all crafted in beautiful pixel art.

Currently, our production of art and script is in full speed. Here are some details:

Script:

- The script currently has 45,000 words.
- 2 main routes and 3 sub-routes for side events.
- The game is in the middle of the second act.

We are still working on the story to ensure that the choices and routes are truly distinct from one another. Our goal is to create the sensation of three different games within the same story. The protagonist will encounter different characters, and the events will vary for each route. This way, we can explore the game universe in a non-linear fashion, focusing on different aspects of the world in each individual route. Depending on the choices made, the player may get to know more than one character or not. It’s a dynamic similar to a dating sim, but without the complexity of status systems. The idea is to prioritize quality over quantity. It’s very important to us that the pacing of the visual novel is good and dynamic, so we are always revisiting and refining the scenes individually to ensure everything flows smoothly.

Art:

- 16 characters currently done.
- 5 backgrounds completed.
- One animated CG.

In terms of art, our main concern is achieving cohesion between the environments and the different characters. We are also being very careful to ensure that the characters have natural poses, as they will also be animated, which we believe enhances immersion in the world of Memoria High School. It’s undeniable that our artist’s commitment is immense. We want to make it clear that she took this upon herself!!! She wanted to animate all the characters and create hyper-detailed backgrounds.

The original idea was to create a relatively simple game in terms of art style, the reasons we chose pixel art are:
1. It’s economical when used intelligently
2. Our computers are limited to the point where they can’t render high-resolution images (lmao).

But that quickly got out of control... We found ourselves working 12 to 14 hours a day, giving our best to build a pixel art style not yet seen in visual novels... It’s a significant effort, but we believe it will be worth it.

Conclusion:

It’s a long road ahead, but we are very excited about the journey and the final result. Every new piece and scene we finish fuels our motivation to make the game better. We want to give 110% of our ability. We hope that will be enough!!! The script still has about 36 backgrounds and 40 characters currently... And the script itself is far from finished.
